Welcome to Skagway (originally spelled Skaguay)-"Home of the North Wind", the first incorporated city in Alaska, as of 1900. Also known as "Gateway to the Klondike", Skagway is the most northern port of Southeast Alaska allowing access to the Alaskan Highway. During the summer season, our port is home to many cruise ships and tourists.

Alaska Power & Telephone Company first came to Skagway in 1957 to provide power. Currently, AP&T offers power, telephone and Internet service, and as of December 1997, AP&T proudly generates power by way of Goat Lake Hydro to Skagway and Haines. Our local office employs 14 residents year round who are trained to provide friendly service to our neighbors.
