The community of about 15,000 hugs the southwest end of Revillagigedo Island. Locals pronounce it Ree-VIL-Luh-Juh-GAY-Doe, named for the Spanish viceroy of Mexico. Ketchikan is the first stop on the Marine Highway System's service to Alaska from the Lower 48 and is a hub of activity once spring and summer season bring the big blue boats on their weekly stops.
Take a walking of the historical downtown area and Creek Street or a bus tour of Saxman Native Village and Totem Bight State Park. Ketchikan offers a wide variety of excursions from float plane tours to kayaking.
Many prophesied that the curtailing of forest-products related activity spelled hard times for Ketchikan. But true to their heritage, and as testament to the independent spirit which brought them north; Ketchikan survives and thrives. AP&T Wireless is proud to play a role in this success story by providing reliable state of the art Paging, 800 MHz Land Mobile Telephone, VHF, Satellite, Internet and Networking communications infrastructure allowing Alaskans throughout Southeast to Stay In Touch.
