As you can see, we’re pretty excited about the newest addition to AP&T’s Prince of Wales Island vehicle fleet.
EV is a 100% Electric 2017 Chevy Bolt with an EPA range of 238 miles on a single charge.
Each time we fuel EV with POW’s Renewable Hydroelectric Kilowatts, AP&T will be collecting data on EV’s performance and costs versus gas powered vehicles here on the island. EV’s early metrics as they relate to our driving habits and weather conditions since EV’s arrival on POW January 30th.
As the weather has warmed, and less energy for heating the cabin is used, EV’s efficiency has improved to where you would need to get 75+ mpg with gas vehicle to match energy cost.
Another upside is the vehicle it replaced was getting 15/mpg and costing $.24 cents per mile just for fuel alone!
One of the upsides however is the vehicle it replaced was getting 15/mpg and costing $.24 cents per mile just for fuel alone!
